Terms of Service

Introduction

By registering for or attending the Sharjah Animation Conference (SAC), organized by the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), you agree to comply with these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully as they form a binding legal agreement between you and SBA.

Ticket Purchase and Event Access

• Tickets for SAC are exclusively sold through the official event website. Each ticket is issued to a named individual and is non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-exchangeable. This ensures secure and controlled ticket distribution and prevents unauthorized resale.
• To enter the event, attendees might be asked to present a valid photo ID—such as a national ID, driving license, or passport—that matches the name on the ticket. The debit/credit card used for purchase may also need to be presented.
• Tickets purchased from resellers such as Online Ticket Shop, Viagogo, or Dubizzle are considered invalid, and holders will be denied entry.
• Attendees are responsible for ensuring they meet the age criteria and dress code requirements set by the event organizers. SBA reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone who fails to comply with these requirements.

User Conduct

• Attendees must conduct themselves in a manner that does not disrupt the event or other participants. Any form of harassment, abuse, or inappropriate behavior may result in removal from the event without a refund.
• The resale of tickets is strictly prohibited. Any tickets identified as purchased through resale will be canceled without a refund.

Liability and Indemnification

• SBA is not responsible for any personal property that is lost, stolen, or damaged at the event.
• Attendees agree to indemnify and hold harmless SBA and its affiliates from any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, or expenses arising from their actions during the event.

Changes and Cancellations

• SBA reserves the right to make changes to the event schedule, including cancellation of the event due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event of cancellation, SBA may, at its discretion, refund the cost of the ticket.
• The lineup of speakers and activities is subject to change. SBA is not liable for any changes and will attempt to notify attendees of significant changes.

Intellectual Property

• The content presented at SAC, including talks, graphics, and promotional materials, is protected by intellectual property laws. Unauthorized use of any content without the express permission of the copyright holder is strictly prohibited.

Photography and Recording Consent

• By attending SAC, you acknowledge that the event may be photographed or recorded. SAC, managed by the Sharjah Book Authority, reserves the right to use any photographs or video footage taken at the event for promotional, marketing, social media, or other purposes. Your attendance at the event constitutes your consent to be photographed or filmed and to the use of these images or videos by SBA without any compensation to you.

General Provisions

• These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where the event is held.
• Any disputes arising under these terms will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with local laws.
• SBA reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Continued participation in the event following such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
