His diploma short film project was selected for the official competition at Annecy International Film Festival in 2002. From there he started his career in the animation industry and won awards in Italy and abroad (The Poitiers Film Festival).
In 2004, along with Davide Rosio, he founded Movimenti Production, an Italian independent production and animation studio becoming a valuable point of reference for broadcasters and co-producers such as RAI, Netflix and Disney, producing short film and some of the most relevant titles in the animation field, such as “Le Loup” (Season 1 and 2) and “Topo Gigio” (RAI).
As author, director and creative director, Giorgio Scorza has signed several advertising campaigns, album covers, installations, events and Italian and international videoclips, collaborating successfully with artists such as Mika, thasup, Pinguini Tattici Nucleari, and Machete Empire Records, winning the Italian Videoclip Award in 2006 and 2007. Teacher of animation cinema and digital animation for years at IED (European Institute of Design), in 2018, along with Davide Rosio, he founded in Florence DogHead Animation, the 2D animation studio that realised the first animated series of Zerocalcare, Italy’s most famous novelist, “Tear Along the Dotted Line”. Giorgio Scorza signed the technical direction of the show, that was produced by Movimenti Production and released globally in November 2021 on Netflix. The series achieved several awards such as “Best Tv Series” at the Diversity Media Awards 2022, the “Nastro of the Year” at the Nastri d’Argento Grandi Serie Awards 2022, 5 Serial Awards, such as Directing and Scripted Series of the Year, at FeST - Il Festival delle Serie Tv 2022 and the Globo d’Oro 2022 - the film prize given by the Foreign Press Club in Rome.
