Sofia El Khyari is an award-winning animation filmmaker and visual artist born in Casablanca. Alongside her studies in cultural management in France, she taught herself the craft of animation before being awarded her MA from the Royal College of Art in London. Her short films have been screened and awarded at more than 150 international festivals, including the Locarno Film Festival, TIFF Toronto International Film Festival, Annecy Animation Film Festival, Fespaco (Burkina Faso) and FICAM (Morocco). Her works have also been exhibited in galleries, as well as being screened and acquired by prestigious museums and institutions, such as Institute du Monde Arabe and Musée du Quai-Branly Jacques Chirac in Paris.
